A Purple President?

Why isn't the President of the United States PURPLE? Sure, his/her nomination and election needs a political agenda so I can understand the party politics that drive someone to be elevated to the highest position in the land but after the election a different mindset should be in place. The POTUS should not be the cheerleader/head of any political party. The POTUS is the leader of the "entire" country, not just the people that voted for him/her and not just the party faithful. Party politics should be left to the heads of the national party organizations. This is part of the problem that we have today. Pushing a party agenda to exclusion of all else without a mandate from the people (what constitutes a mandate anyway?). We all need a leader. Let's hope POTUS and the new Congress can start putting people first.
